Screen Printing class at Saltgrass Printmakers focusing on adults 55 years and older. The class will cover basic screen printing techniques and introduce PLORK (Play and Work) drawing & observation exercises.
We will be taking our inspiration from Corita Kent. Kent taught art and printmaking at Immaculate Heart College in Hollywood, CA during the tumultuous 1960s. Kent had a simple methodology; Begin, look, connect & create, work & play, celebrate! Students in this course will be combining some of Kent's drawing and observation exercises from her book Learning By Heart to the medium of screen printing. Students will cover basic screen-printing techniques including multiple color registrations.
