Wonderbloom Gala: A Night to Champion Nature-Based Education Equity
Transformative Scholarships: Supporting Nature Learning for All Children

Nature lovers, education enthusiasts, and supporters of early childhood development are invited to a delightful evening celebrating the wonders of nature-based education while supporting equitable access to quality learning opportunities. The gala, Wonderwalk 2024: Floral Fiesta Fundraiser, hosted by Wonderbloom Nature Playschool and proudly sponsored by 'Bout Time, will kick off its equitable access initiative with a fundraising event dedicated to the Wonderbloom Scholarship Endowment.

As Utah's first licensed nature-based preschool, Wonderbloom is committed to providing holistic learning experiences in its outdoor classroom, focusing on Mind, Body, and Soul. Founded in 2017, Dr. Sarah Stone combined a deep knowledge of early childhood development with principles of nature-based learning to create Wonderbloom's philosophy and structure. While prevalent in Scandinavian countries for over thirty years, nature-based learning is recently increasing in popularity throughout the United States. This type of education offers numerous benefits for children, including increased academic performance, creativity, impulse control, a stronger immune system, reduced obesity, better psychological well-being, advanced cognitive skills, enhanced social skills, and more positive attitudes toward nature and the environment.

The evening’s gala promises an unforgettable evening filled with dinner, drinks, dessert, and camaraderie among champions of nature-based early childhood education. Guests will have the opportunity to mingle with like-minded individuals who share a passion for fostering curiosity and exploration in young minds.

A highlight of the evening will be the launch of the Equitable Access Initiative and the Wonderbloom Scholarship Endowment. Over the next two years, the Garbett Family Foundation has generously granted $100,000 to Wonderbloom for equitable access to its nature-based programs. Funds raised for the scholarship endowment will be generously matched dollar for dollar by the Garbett Family Foundation up to $33,000. This initiative aims to ensure that all children have access to the transformative power of nature-based education, regardless of financial circumstances.

"Wonderbloom has always been an open and accepting place for families from all backgrounds," said Dr. Sarah Stone, Founder and Executive Director at Wonderbloom. “With community support of the endowment fund, our reach can go much further.”

The gala will not only include fundraising activities, such as opportunity drawings for great prizes and a silent auction showcasing unique local items and experiences, but also feature inspiring presentations from experts in the field of nature-based education. Additionally, attendees can anticipate hearing heartwarming stories from scholarship recipients who have been positively impacted by their experiences at Wonderbloom Nature Playschool. Every contribution and bid will directly support the mission of providing equitable access to nature-based early childhood education.

"Join us for a night of fun, community, and giving back - all for a good cause," urged Lianna Lopez, Wonderbloom Director. "Together, we can make a difference in the lives of children."

The fundraising gala will take place on Thursday, April 11th at 5:30 p.m. at 'Bout Time in Bluffdale. Tickets are available for purchase online at https://givebutter.com/c/wonderbloomplayschool.
