Westminster’s Center for Entrepreneurship is seeking female applicants for its third annual business education and loan program. Applications are being accepted online through March20, 2014 at www.gecapital.com/en/banking_on_women.html.
Launched in 2011 by GE Capital, Banking on WomenTM helps female entrepreneurs jump-start their own businesses by providing business plan development assistance and mentoring as well as access to funding. For the next session, which begins April 10, GE Capital will provide 15 scholarships to qualified applicants for the 15-week intensive program.
Westminster’s Center for Entrepreneurship has partnered with GE Capital and the Utah Microenterprise Loan Fund to support female business owners. By investing in female entrepreneurs, the program supports job creation, retention and economic development in Salt Lake City. More than 78 female entrepreneurs have participated in Banking on Women, and over 47 businesses are currently in operation.
Who should apply:
Banking on Women™ is designed for women who are not able to access traditional sources of funding for their businesses. Female entrepreneurs looking to start or grow their microenterprises are encouraged to apply. A microenterprise business is a small business with five or fewer employees that requires less than $35,000 to start, and is too small to qualify for commercial banking services.
The Banking on WomenTM program is free. For more information, contact Danielle Lower at email@example.com, or visit http://www.gecapital.com/en/banking_on_women.html
