Vintage Signs of Sugar House Tour

Learn the stories and secrets behind the signs of these local businesses as well as the skills of sign making.  The lecture portion will explore signage in metropolitan Salt Lake City. It will be based on her beautifully photographed book – Vintage Signs of Utah – which will also be available for purchase.   The walking tour will focus on signs in Sugar House and the history behind them.

The event will begin with a lecture at 10 am inside Fiddlers Elbow. The walking tour will commence around 11 am and last until noon or 12:15 pm, returning to Fiddlers Elbow.

About Our Presenter

Lisa-Michelle Church literally wrote the book on Utah’s historic signs! Beyond her impressive career experience and legal practice, She also runs a small non-profit called Relentless History. She publishes books and makes presentations on untold Utah stories. Her historical interests focus on the American West and vernacular architecture. Her most recent book, VINTAGE SIGNS OF UTAH, is on sale at The King’s English Bookshop in Salt Lake City. It is a fascinating tour of hundreds of vintage signs around Utah.
