3-Hour Throwdown: Spoon Rests, Pottery Wheel or Hand-building

Presented by Visual Art Institute at Visual Art Institute

Pesky drips, we don’t likes pesky drips on the stove precious! This 3-hour instructor lead class will cover the basics of pinching clay and throwing on a pottery wheel. With all materials included, participants can expect to make 1-2 spoon rests which they can then choose a color, so staff may glaze them. This is a great class for those wanting to try their hand in clay or rediscover a past passion for clay.  Finished objects can be picked up 2-3 weeks after the class and just in time for your next hobbit themed stew!

Get ready for 3 full hours of creative fun with clay!

In this 10-part pop-up series, adults, and teens 12 years and up, of any skill level, are invited to participate in one or more 3-hour, instructor lead classes covering the foundations of working with clay. Themed projects will vary from week to week and may be wheel or hand-building based. Students may enroll in one themed class at a time or may enroll in multiple individual classes. Completed projects are fired and glazed by staff with your choice of color and are usually ready for pick up in 2 weeks.
