New York-based singer and songwriter Judy Gorman will present a concert on the Weber State University campus April 12 at 7:30 p.m. in room 229 of Elizabeth Hall. A second performance plus silent auction on April 17 will be held at the Ziegfeld Theater in Ogden. Proceeds will benefit Weber State University’s MOZWOC project, a collaboration among the departments of Dance, Geography, and Women’s Studies. This past semester, faculty members Julie Rich, Joanne Lawrence, and Alicia Giralt have been preparing students to travel to Mozambique and help to build a Women’s Center. The group hopes it will be a place where African woman can learn, grow, and dream. Rich believes that, "If we lift a woman, we can raise a nation."
