USAF Golden West Winds

Presented by Draper Historic Theatre at Draper Historic Theatre

The Golden West Winds is part of the U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West from Travis Air Force Base, California. Composed of flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn, and bassoon, this ensemble supports a wide variety of musical events ranging from military ceremonies and patriotic shows to educational programs, concerts for general audiences, and recitals of original works for woodwind quintet. To support these events the Golden West Winds plays music of all styles including marches, patriotic, popular, jazz and classical music.
Tailoring every show to its audience, the Golden West Winds performs a variety of different community relations concerts throughout the western United States. In addition to community relations concerts, The Golden West Winds’ innovative music education program allows the group’s members to share their enthusiasm and expertise in a lively, interactive concert presented to elementary students. For middle school through college level, the quintet provides concerts, clinics and master classes.
The distinctive atmosphere of Golden West Winds concerts bonds musicians and audience in an intimate and memorable musical experience.
