Muscle Shoals Live with Lisa Fischer graces the St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights concert series on Sunday, August 3 at Deer Valley Resort’s Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater. Named for the little Alabama town that drew some of rock and R&B’s biggest names (The Beatles, Paul Simon, Aretha Franklin, Dylan, the Rolling Stones) to its recording studio, Muscle Shoals Live returns with a roster of the “Singing River’s” best: Candi Staton (multiple gold album recipient, featured in the “Muscle Shoals” documentary), Wayne Chaney, Raquel Payne, John Primm, Samson White, Gale Mayes, Jermaine Johnson and Haley Reed. Grammy winner Lisa Fischer – think jaw-dropping “Gimme Shelter” duet with Mick Jagger – headlines the evening. Recently featured in the Oscar winning documentary “Twenty Feet from Stardom,” Fischer (a.k.a. “Brown Sugar”) has long been the instantly recognizable voice accompanying rock stars, ranging from Sting and the Rolling Stones (she’s been a part of every Stones tour since 1989) to Beyoncé and Bobby McFerrin. Show starts at 7 p.m.; gates open at 5:30 p.m. Lawn tickets are $40. Reserved seats are $55 and $75. Please call 435-655-3114 or visit www.bigstarsbrightnightsconcerts.org. Picnics and coolers welcome. Concerts held rain or shine.
