Faculty trumpeter Anne McNamara teams up with pianist Lawrence Gee and organist Linda Margetts for an energizing performance. The program includes Petr Eben's "Windows for Trumpet and Organ," inspired by Marc Chagall's stained glass windows in the Hebrew University synagogue in Jerusalem. Eben remarked, “the solemness of the large panes of stained glass made me imagine the sound of the organ and the intensity and brilliance of the sheaves of bright colors called for the shrill tone of the trumpet.” Also featured is Libby Larsen’s “Ridge Runner,” which refers to a slang term for audacious Americans, reminding Larsen of the daring spirit of the solo trumpeter! The concert also includes a standard from the trumpet repertoire Eric Ewazen's Sonata for Trumpet and Piano and Kevin McKee's "A Winter's Night."
