Westminster College is pleased to present a free screening of Paprika on March 2, 2015 7pm. at the Tower Theatre as part of the Ivory Tower Film Studies Program.
Paprika is a 2006 Japanese animated film co-written and directed by Satoshi Kon—based on Yasutaka Tsutsui’s 1993 novel of the same name. The film is about a research psychologist who uses a device that permits therapists to help patients by entering their dreams. It is Kon’s fourth and final feature film before his death in 2010. Paprika represents the most ambitious example of Kon’s penchant for grotesque and surreal flights of visual imagination.
In partnership with the Salt Lake Film Society, the presentation of Paprika is part of a series of film screenings that will appear at the Tower Theatre throughout the school year. All Ivory Tower film screenings are free and open to the public. The films are selected and introduced by Westminster students/alumni.
