The PG Players will present the humorous and poignant Tom Griffin play, "The Boys Next Door," from April 17 – May 4 on Friday, Saturday and Monday evenings at 7:30pm. There will also be a Saturday matinee at 3:00pm on May 2. “The Boys Next Door” will be presented in the Keith Christeson Theater on the first floor of the Pleasant Grove Library at 30 East Center Street. Howard and Kathryn Little are directing this production.
The Boys Next Door is the heart-warming story of four delightful men who happen to be mentally challenged and are living in a communal residence in New England. They are under the supervision of a very caring social worker who finds himself getting increasingly “burned out” by his job.
Mingled with antics from the daily lives of these men, where "little things" often become hilariously momentous, are moments of great poignancy when, with touching effectiveness, we are reminded that those who are mentally challenged, like the rest of us, want only to love and laugh and find some meaning and purpose in the brief time that they are allotted on this earth.
Directors Howard and Kathryn Little look forward to sharing this jewel of a play with their community! "What a wonderful opportunity for us to look at life from their unique perspective", Kathryn replied when asked about the play, "we've been wanting to do this show for several years now and are so glad to have it on this year's season!"
The cast includes: Dennis Purdie, Scott Healy, Richard Dover, Jeff Thompson, James Boley, Kelty Johnson, Robert Holcombe and Amanda Gedeborg. Sherri Holcombe is the stage manager for the production.
