2015 Luge World Cup

The 2015-2016 International Luge Federation calendar includes nine luge world cup competitions in six countries. The Utah Olympic Park will be the third stop on the circuit with competitions taking place December 11 and 12. In addition to hosting Doubles, Women’s and Men’s events, the Olympic Park will also be one of three tracks to host a newly formed Sprint Cup competition. The Sprint Cup is a new event on the world cup circuit and features the top 15 sliders in a one-run heat down the track with timing beginning 330 feet from the start. The last time the Olympic Park hosted an FIL World Cup, during the 2013-2014 season, 157 athletes from thirty-two nations participated with team U.S.A. medaling five times. The event realized forty-four hours of international TV time reaching an estimated audience of 18,673,000.
