In 10,000 Thoughts, new works combine the vocabulary of the portrait and figure with intuitive mark-making and repetition. In some works, the portrait functions as a surface on a void. Infinite space behind the construct of a face is held together, momentarily, through an aggregate. In other works, the shape, as void, rests on the body. While ever softening its structure, Kanatsiz accords representational imagery with its essence;  illusion.
