HawkWatch Accipiter Field Trip

Presented by Alta Community Enrichment and HawkWatch International at Alta Ski Area

Accipiters are forest dwelling hawks with long tails that allow them to easily maneuver through tight spaces.  The 3 North American accipiters are Sharp-shinned Hawk, Cooper’s Hawk, andNorthern Goshawk.  Join HawkWatch International for a short presentation on accipiters to learn more about these specialized hawks, followed by a hawk watch stroll through the Albion Meadows Trail area to find some accipiters in their habitat.

What to bring
Bring your hiking shoes and an extra layer for cold weather. Bring plenty of water and your binoculars. Trail snacks will be provided.
