Jim performs and write songs with a toe tapping energy that is a natural part of his Ozark roots. His home grown musical style makes a rhythmic connection with country-bluegrass and folk-rock audiences everywhere. It’s a bit contagious and when questioned he calls his musical genre “mountain country”.

Jim’s relentless desire to connect with his audience makes for a passionate performance. Music sets are filled with original songs as well as classic covers set to his energetic style. Being influenced by songwriters like Merle Haggard, David Gates, Neil Young, Tom Petty, Steve Earle, Chris Stapleton, Eric Church, Tyler Childers, and many other talented performing songwriters. Choosing songs that create an acoustic performance that go over well with the “Ozark” that still hides in his voice. He has developed something uniquely his own and engagingly entertaining to those within earshot!

In 2014 Jim was selected as one of the Top 3 finalist in the nationally recognized Susanne Millsap’s Performing Songwriter Contest in Salt Lake City, Utah. for his song Home Grown. A prestigious contest for performing songwriters began in 1996 with the radio station KRCL 90.9 and continues to bring in talented performing songwriters from around the United States every year. His 2017 album “Mountain Country ~ Home Grown” is found on SPOTIFY!

As a performing ASCAP artist, Jim has been fortunate to play in a wide range of settings; both as a solo artist and with his incredible band project called Mountain Country with Jim Fish. Notable past performances include; the Ogden Acoustic Music FestivalSpring City Music Festival, the Utah Arts Festival, the Concerts at Sundance Series, the Wallsburg Music FestivalThe Garage on Beck, KRCL radio spots, ​Gracies, The Lake Effect, Bluegrass Saturday Night at the Gallivan Center (Salt Lake), High West Distillery & Saloon, Independent Film Makers Lounge, Green River Music Festival, and the Evanston Bluegrass Festival to list a few. Normally performing over 100 shows a year!
