Excellence in the Community is an arts non profit established in 2005 on the premise that Utah’s best musicians and dancers represent a powerful resource for enhancing communities. We raise money to create more and better performance opportunities for Utah artists. We work with a wide range of artists and wide range of musical styles.

We work with the Gallivan Center in downtown Salt Lake City; the Viridian Center in West Jordan; and with the Utah Division of Arts and Museums on the Mondays in the Park concert series in Liberty Park. We also work with arts groups in rural Utah to bring our programs to their communities. We present concerts in area schools.

At Gallivan Center we produce four concerts per month on Thursday evenings. These events take place in Gallivan Hall during the cooler months, and when weather permits we move to the outdoor stage. Concerts start at 7:30 and are free.

We also produce a summer series of weekly big band swing dances at the Gallivan Center. For the 2017 season, this series starts the 3rd Tuesday of May and continues on Tuesday nights through the end of September. These events include swing dance instruction from Ballroom Utah starting at 7:00 pm. The Gallivan Center provides an outdoor dance floor. Like all of our concerts,  these events are free.

Working with the Viridian Center we produce monthly concerts, the second Saturday of each month. This is wonderful new venue inWest Jordan. (8030 South, 1825 West).

We produce monthly concerts in Provo with and at the Covey Center for the Arts, usually on Monday evenings.

We produce concerts regularly with the Holladay Arts Council.

Our concept is to use quality music to bring people together. By offering our events free to the public people of all ages can come together to celebrate the accomplishments of Utah artists. We want families to bring their children to these events. We call our concept Music to Match the Mountains. More information is available at excellenceconcerts.org
