The Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) is committed to providing the necessary tools for international students and scholars for both their academic and personal success. The OISS is committed to providing leadership and support to enhance the academic, social, and personal interactions of international students and scholars while at USU, in the Logan community, and beyond. The office serves as the primary link between the students and the local and government agencies around the world. We have a dedicated staff eager to assist with admission, advising on immigration and other matters such as academic, personal, and social adjustments of students, scholars, and their families while at USU. There are numerous activities at USU offered by the OISS, to help international students and scholars engage, interact, and assimilate university life. We continuously strive to create a warm and inclusive environment in which all students can learn and interact in a culture sensitive community of scholars.

Throughout the year the OISS offers services and cultural programs that are responsive to the needs of linguistically diverse population at Utah State University. These services include, but are not limited to, academic and cultural orientation programs, general and academic advising, transportation, conflict resolutions and mediation, immigration matters, peer mentoring, cultural events planning, and referrals to other campus units such as the Student Health Services, Counseling Center, Academic Resource Center, Advising and Transition Services, Housing and Food Services, Intensive English Language Institute Program, International Scholarships, Registrar, Cashier’s, Student Employment, and Career Services to ensure academic success through graduation.

The OISS strongly believes in providing support to international student organizations to enhance campus activities and to create an enriched college environment that is a characterization of our global community. Through international and multicultural education and tailored student support services, the OISS serves as a cultural bridge for students to develop and practice the skills necessary to become world citizens.
