Oakley City is the producer of the Oakley Rodeo and 4th of July Celebration. Oakley City started as an agricultural community, however, recently it has given land for cattle and horse feeding, as well as a wealth of recreational activities. Only a short distance from the city there is hiking, fishing, horseback riding, camping, hunting, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing.
