The Vernal UTAH Storytelling Festival began in 2003 as the Indian Summer Storytelling Festival. “Indian Summer” meaning the extra-long days at the end of a hot summer. Times change just like the seasons, and not only did we change the time of year for our festival, but our name as well.

We are a volunteer group of storytelling enthusiasts and we host a 2-day storytelling festival in March. We take pride in the high caliber of talent we bring and have had many internationally recognized artists come perform. We also have an educational symposium for students, teachers, and lovers of story where we learn all the many skills this art entails. Throughout the rest of the year we are advocates of reading, writing, and performing. We are a non-profit group and all proceeds are donated to the Uintah School’s Fundation.

Our storytellers are nationally and regionally acclaimed and guaranteed to entertain and inform! Come visit and share a story or two.
