Born in Tremonton, Utah, Kayla Kerr Gabbert studied with Lee Parkinson, Milford Zornes, Osral Allred, Harrison Groutage, Doug Snow, and Carl Purcell, and was a member of the Western Art Guild, the Ogden Palette Club, and the Utah Watercolor Society. She was selected in 1985 to represent Utah watercolor painting in an exhibition at the National Museum of History, Taipei, Taiwan.
