Born and raised in Long Beach, California, Caryn moved to Utah and earned an MFA degree in photography at the University of Utah, and has since served as an Assistant Professor in the University’s Art Department. She has continued her research into alternative photo processes, while watching film itself become an archaic technique with the advent of digital photography. Her work incorporates installation, staged photography, and mixed media.
