Joshua David Baird was born to a family that encouraged the arts. He grew up in Salt Lake City, where in his early years he was influenced by local artists, musicians, and the distinctive Utah landscape. He has been creating fine art since his early teens. The unique light, texture, and forms found in the Southern Utah landscape have been an inspiration to him. After exploring many artistic media, he prefers the rich colors and textures of oil paint.
