Harold Worlton Woolston was born in Lehi. An important Utah impressionist, Woolston studied with Elbert Eastmond of Stanford University and B. F. Larson of Brigham Young University. He was influenced by Birger Sandzen and Phillip Barkdull as evident in his use of thick paint in landscape and still life subjects. Woolston graduated from BYU in 1933 and became an art instructor in the public school system.
