Barbara Jean Richards is a Salt Lake City photographer. She is self-taught who, by her own admission, “learned by reading books, pestering clerks at the camera shop, and making a multitude of mistakes.” She was hired to teach photography in the Graduate School of Architecture at the University of Utah and remained there for 25 years until retiring as Professor Emeritus.
