Eric Dowdle was raised in Idaho and Wyoming, and is now active as an artist in Salt Lake City. While living in New England, Dowdle became interested in American folk art. He has incorporated the influence of naive painting with his ability as a realist painter and developed his own personal style, which informs his paintings of historical, traditional, or contemporary landscapes, architecture, and daily life.
