Akiko Tanaguchi is recognized internationally as an accomplished artist and technically astute printmaker. She holds an MFA from Musashino Art University, Tokyo, her native city. Her prints often employ a variety of print-media including collagraph, etching, drypoint, mezzotint and chine collé. She lives and works in Calgary, with her partner Sean Caulfield. The pair came to Utah in 2008 for an artists’ residency and workshop at Saltgrass Printmakers in Salt Lake City.
