Originally from Ohio, Coalson was a student in San Bernardino, Santa Monica, and Cupertino, California before study at the University of Utah in 1976, where she earned a BFA and MFA. Coalson won a Utah Arts Council Purchase Award at the statewide juried exhibition “Utah ’85.” She is a member of the Utah Watercolor Society.
