Lori Nelson grew up in Grand Junction, Colorado. At eighteen, she moved to Salt Lake City where she put her own neighborhood life in her drawings. In 1993, she finished a BFA degree at the University of Utah. Nelson currently works and lives in Brooklyn, where she serves as Director of Artists in Residence at Governors Island. She continues to exhibit frequently in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York City.
