The Beehive is one of Utah’s premier DIY venues. Popular for punk shows, metal shows, hardcore shows, and other countercultural genres. The Beehive is also home to Salt City Slam, Utah’s largest and rowdiest poetry show. It is also the residence of Lords of Misrule Theatre Company and Improv Avenue. The Beehive hosts a monthly goth night, a monthly poetry slam, and a weekly improv jam.
The Beehive is part of AAMP Utah (Alternative Arts and Music Program) and shares the mission of making art more accessible and uplifting the voices of marginalized artists.
The Beehive is an all ages venue. It is behind Mark of the Beastro, which is a vegan diner that serves food and drinks. The diner is open during most shows.
