Cache Valley Afternoon

Huntsville, Utah artist Steven Frederick Songer earned degrees in commercial art and art education from Weber State University in the early 1970s, followed by an MFA in painting from Utah State University. He became an outstanding high school art teacher, retiring from that profession in 1997 to devote himself full-time to painting. He has been featured in important art publications such as Southwest Art and Art of the West, and his work is in important public and private collections in Utah and elsewhere. In 2006, he was honored by the State of Utah with the Governor’s Award in the Arts.
