Noted Utah artist, teacher, art historian and author Tom Leek is a graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago. He subsequently studied at the University of California Los Angeles, the University of Iowa, and Brigham Young University, earning his master’s degree there in 1961. Leek was the founding director (1976-1984) of the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery at Southern Utah State University in Cedar City, and served as art department chair from 1961 to 1978. He remained on the art faculty until retiring in 1984. His watercolors, primarily landscapes, are included in museum, corporate and private collections in Utah and elsewhere. Tom Leek lives and maintains his studio in Salt Lake City.
