Spring City, Utah artist Ella Gilmer Peacock studied at the Maryland Institute in Baltimore and the School of Design in Philadelphia. During the depression, she had employment painting stained glass and lampshades. She remained in Pennsylvania until 1970 when she relocated to the west with her husband. Peacock found the rural architecture and backdrop of the high desert complimentary to her paining style. Her paintings (and their matching frames) are in museum and other public collections in Utah.
