Sharon Davis Alderman was born in Tulare, California, is by training a chemist, and self-taught as a fiber artist. She came to Salt Lake in 1970, and has been active as a weaving teacher and workshop leader since the late 1970s. Alderman is a widely known fiber artist, noted for her concern with color and light within exquisitely subtle designs. Her work ranges from commissioned upholstery fabrics to framed hand-woven color studies.
