H. Edward Neslen taught for many years at Granite High School in Salt Lake. He was born in Grand Junction, Colorado, and came to Salt Lake City with his family, where he began his art training at Irving Junior High, and later studied with LeConte Stewart, A. B. Wright, and Mabel Fraser at the University of Utah. An oil painter known for his landscapes, and for his paintings of fantasy and science fiction subjects, Neslen was active in many arts organizations in Utah.
