One of the most talented and successful painters working in Utah today, David Dornan earned a BFA degree from the University of Utah and an MFA from Arizona State. He was on the University of Utah art faculty of the from the early 1980s until he established studios in Helper, Utah and Palm Desert, California to focus on his art. His highly charged still lifes of sloppy paint cans, jars, brushes, cigars, and other familiar objects are both realistic and abstract at the same time. Dornan’s work has been exhibited and sold widely in the United States.
