George Handrahan, born in Ogden, Utah, was raised in the rural community of South Weber. An oil painter and watercolorist. Handrahan earned a degree in art (illustration) from Weber State University in 1976. As a student, Handrahan learned to appreciate many forms of art, gravitating to the work of LeConte Stewart, Maynard Dixon, the California and American Regionalist artists, admiring their ability to subtly portray the essence of light, color, form, and mood.
