Auditions for It's a Wonderful Life

Sugar Factory Playhouse / West Jordan Theater Arts is excited to announce auditions for It’s a Wonderful Life adapted by James H. Rodgers and faithfully based on Frank Capra’s classic film.

It’s a Wonderful Life is the saga of George Bailey, the Everyman from the small town of Bedford Falls, whose dreams of escape and adventure have been quashed by family obligation and civic duty, whose guardian angel has to descent on Christmas Eve to save him from despair and to remind him—by showing him what the world would have been like had he never been born—that his has been, after all, a wonderful life.

Auditions will be held October 4 and October 5 from 7-9 p.m. at the old West Jordan library (1970 W 7800 S, West Jordan). Callbacks will be held October 8 by invitation only.

Auditioners should come prepared with 2 one-minute contrasting contemporary monologues (e.g. one dramatic monologue and one humorous monologue). These monologues should be memorized (or very close to it). We are looking for acting, characterization, and risk-taking, not just an ability to recite the monologues.

Headshots and theater resumes are encouraged but not required.

We are looking for actors ages 6 and up and of all ethnicities, and no roles have been or will be pre-cast. Small children must have an adult that can commit to being at all rehearsals and performances with them.

Performance dates and venue are yet to be determined. It’s a Wonderful Life is directed by Adam Cannon, and any questions can be directed to him at or 801-420-8519.
