Punyah Dance Company presents Parshwanath Upadhye, Shruti Gopal and Aditya PV in a retelling of the Ramayana.
‘Abha’ is a re-imagined telling of the epic story Ramayana, emphasizing the agency of Sita, her choices, and the strength of her character. Abha means “brightness” and this retelling emphasizes a viewing of this timeless tale from the female protagonist’s perpective – one who is not a pawn in a bigger game, but rather is an empowered actor in her own right, directing events to a desired consequence.
