Now in it’s 10th year, the festival features a variety of beautiful creations in pottery, painting, photography and willow weaving. You can unleash your inner artist by participating in one of a number of hands-on workshops during the festival. Visit a prehistoric rock art panel with an expert, learn to prepare Native foods with a Santa Fe chef, or hone your writing skills with workshops led by published professionals.
Other must attend events during the festival include the Bluff Film Festival, an evening of storytelling around a bonfire on the San Juan River, an all-day "meet the artists" Live Art Event, local Gallery open houses and tours, a Quilt Show, and a huge Silent Auction. The Saturday Night Gala will showcase the work of Hollywood Director and Screenwriter Tab Murphy, who will also show and discuss several of his films over the course of the weekend.
The small town of Bluff is an active center for artists, writers and archeologists. We draw on these local and regional experts as we design each year’s events. October is a great time to visit SE Utah with ideal temperatures, cottonwoods beginning to color the river corridor, and, at higher elevations, aspen, sumac, and box elders offering splendid fall foliage. Come and celebrate the season with us.
The Bluff Arts Festival website and our Facebook page will provide more festival details as information becomes available.
