Celebrating Phyllis Horne - September Gallery Stroll Reception

Come celebrate Phyllis Horne’s 85th birthday and her wonderful five-decade career in painting, at this Gallery Stroll Reception, Friday, Sept. 16th, 5-9pm. The artist will be present to meet and greet fans and collectors from 6–7:30 p.m. The exhibit, continues and evolves through Oct. 15,  will include newly available paintings from her collection, as well as a range of her skillfully observed, dramatic landscapes spanning the seasons. Phyllis Horne was elected an Honored Artist of Utah, and her work has received many awards over the years. Her paintings are featured in numerous private and public collections, including the Springville Museum, The Salt Lake County Art Collection, The State of Utah Art Collection at the Governor’s Mansion, St. Marks Hospital, Kennecott Copper, and several law firms. She is best known for the way she captures the poetry of trees and flowers.  Born in  Richfield, Utah, she paints rural Utah with great insight and empathy. She is adept at capturing the West’s fast disappearing landscape. She gives the viewer the sense they’ve hiked that path or have viewed that bend in the road. Her paintings evoke memory and a deep respect for place.
