Coal Creek Water Quality Testing with Hope Braithwaite, USU Watershed Scientist

Interested in the health of Coal Creek? So are we! We will be making a short journey to Coal Creek to investigate and understand our local fresh water quality. We will be using test kits (provided) to test for oxygen levels, macroinvertebrates, and more. It will be followed by a discussion of our results and what they indicate. All ages. Meet at the Museum and wear good shoes and dress for the weather.

This event accompanies H2O Today, a traveling Smithsonian exhibition brought to Utah by Utah Humanities and Frontier Homestead State Park. These events are part of Think Water Utah, a statewide collaboration and conversation on the critical topic of water presented by Utah Humanities and its partners.

H2O Today is organized by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service. It was adapted from an exhibition organized by the American Museum of Natural History (New York) and the Science Museum of Minnesota (St. Paul), in collaboration with Great Lakes Science Center (Cleveland), Field Museum (Chicago), Instituto Sangari (Sao Paulo), National Museum of Australia (Canberra), Royal Ontario Museum (Toronto), San Diego Natural History Museum, and Science Centre Singapore.
