Consent: The What, How and Why for Teens

Instructors will discuss consent and boundaries in dating to help empower teens with skills to build healthy, comfortable relationships. Parents/guardians are encouraged to attend. For ages 13–18.

Este programa será dado en Español y está pensado para adolescentes de entre 13 a 18 años. Padres/tutores estan invitados a atender este evento con su adolescente y se les invita a iniciar una conversación mas profunda despues de este clase.

Esta clase sera dirigida por un trabajador del Rape Recovery Center (Centro de Recuperación de Violación).

Este tema tan importante será discutido de manera objetiva y sin juicios. Esta sesion explorará las molestias y realidades de consentimiento-en-acción: Qué es consentimiento, porqué es importante y cómo preguntar, conceder, rechazar o revocar consentimiento sexual. También discutiremos qué es lo que hace que la comunicación que guía al consentimiento sea difícil y como incorporar el consentimiento en cada etapa para una sana relación.

This program will be facilitated in Spanish and is intended for teens ages 13–18 years old. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to attend with their teen and to further talk about the subject matter after the class.

This class will be led by trained staff from the Rape Recovery Center.

This important topic will be discussed thoroughly and without judgment. This session will explore the nuances and realities of consent-in-action: what consent is, why it’s important, and how to ask for, give, deny, or revoke consent. We will also discuss what makes consent communication difficult and how to incorporate consent at every level of any healthy relationship.
