Visit your friends at SUMA for a special storytime and hands-on creative activity in performing arts, visual arts or natural science. Each Create Playdate is about 45-minutes long and is geared toward preschool children (ages 3 to 5) and their parents or guardians. Every book read at Create Playdate is followed by a make-n-take activity that can be enjoyed by the whole family. KATIE SHEEN ABBOTT

Choreographer; Dancer; Musician; UDAM Teaching Artist | Katie regularly performs throughout Utah with her cuadro which includes: Jake Abbott (guitar and cante), Sandy Meek (guitar), and Julie Sheen (cajon and palmas). While growing up in Utah she studied jazz, ballet, tap and hip-hop. After moving to Baltimore, Maryland for graduate school she fell in love with Flamenco after taking her first Sevillanas class. She studied with Solange Gomes for several years in Salt Lake City and most recently she lived in Sevilla, Spain where she studied with many flamenco maestros, including Luisa Palacio, Angel Atienza, Isabel Bayon and Javier Baron.
