Gwyneth Goes Skiing

The story recounts the now-infamous collision in 2016 on the slopes of Deer Valley and the court case seven years later that enthralled the world.  Gwyneth Goes Skiing lampoons the story and weaves a very silly story of justice, betrayal, and optometry that makes the audience the jury.

Gwyneth Goes Skiing stars Linus Karp as the Goop-founding, Door-Sliding, Shakespeare-Loving, Hollywood superstar Gwyneth Paltrow, and Joseph Martin as her nemesis, Terry Sanderson, a retired Optometrist from Utah.  The lip-sync performance features a whole lot of fictional dialogue and a sprinkling of verbatim lines from court transcripts.

Original music by Leland (RuPaul’s Drag Race; Cher’s Christmas).  RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 3 winner, Trixie Mattel is featured in a special video cameo.

Two extra special guest vocalists also perform in the production. Darren Criss (Glee, also Golden Globe and Emmy Award Winner), and Cat Cohen (NYC cabaret darling and Edinburgh Fringe Comedy Award Winner) are featured as the singing voices of Terry and Gwyneth respectively.

All proceeds generated from this production will support The Egyptian’s Tuition-Free YouTheatre program. Over the past 5 years, the Egyptian Theatre’s youth program has become the beneficiary of a new home (Egyptian Studios) and a new format, where no student is asked to pay tuition or apply for a scholarship.  With these two major advancements, we have been able to triple the number of students and participants to over 2000+ per year!
