I AM HUMAN – free screening

Presented by Utah Film Center and George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Foundation and KUER at Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center, Salt Lake City UT

I AM HUMAN – free screening

Free Through the Lens screening of I AM HUMAN, a profile of the world’s first people with implantable brain-computer interfaces: a paraplegic, an artist struggling with Parkinson’s, and a blind retiree.

I Am Human follows three of the world’s first humans with implantable brain-computer interfaces. As the subjects grapple with the hard realities of becoming “cyborgs,” neuroscientists pushing the outer bounds of possibility face increasingly pressing scientific and ethical quandaries. As humanity begins a quiet march down a new evolutionary path, what will we become…and are we ready?
Post-film Q&A with directors Elena Gaby and Taryn Southern, moderated by KUER RadioWest host Doug Fabrizio.

Free Admission. No tickets required.
Utah Film Center members have access to priority seating from 6:20 pm-6:40 pm before the venue opens to all patrons at 6:40 pm.
