Improv 101 with Leah Higginbotham

Improv 101 is ImprovBroadway’s introductory course that is great for beginners or veteran improvisers. The class introduces the basics of long-form improv.

Students will learn how to use “yes and”, play at the top of your intelligence, be active listeners, and use support moves to create comedic improvised scenes.

This class is the pre-requisite for Improv 201.

Teacher: Leah Higginbotham

Class size: 10-15

Duration: Each level is 5 weeks, once a week, for two hours a session.

Class Time: 6 PM – 8 PM, every Tuesday for 5 weeks, starting April 4th, 2023 and ending May 2nd, 2023

Class Requirements: Students must be 18 years or older to take the ImprovBroadway courses and be willing to abide by ImprovBroadway’s family-friendly content policy. To graduate each course, students must arrive on time to each session, attend each class to completion, maintain good hygiene, attend one ImprovBroadway show (students will be provided a complimentary ticket) within the duration of each course, and perform in a graduation performance at the conclusion of 201, 301, and 401.

​About: Improv 101-401 is the core curriculum classes at the ImprovBroadway Theater and School of Comedy. Each course after 101 requires completion of the previous course to continue to the next level. However, classes are not just for aspiring comedians and performers, so don’t hesitate to take the courses even if you don’t have the desire to become a performer.
