James Rees Studio Tour

Come see new and old work during my first ever Studio Open House on October 15th, 3- 7pm.

James Rees' Studio is in Spanish fork at the mouth of the canyon.  This is the first ever open house studio event.  You can see his work throughout the state in private and public collections.  He will have original hand-pulled prints in a variety of price ranges to suit all levels of collectors!  He was recently featured in the TV series, ARTful (see it here https://www.byutv.org/956b1b2e-a470-4f23-b06c-0d8268eaacfd/artful-james-rees-gwyneth-thompson-briggs)

ADMISSION INFO

Many of the images that will be on display are monotypes from an ongoing series that has imagery relates to coming to terms with learning to deal with difficult things. The images are meant to be positive. The background colors are not constrained by the boundary of the lines. The colors attempt to reflect the strength, beautify and joy one can have even admit challenges. These works seek to reflect gracefully keeping ones' balance and moving forward in life even while bearing the weight of difficulties.

Come spend some personal time with a widely-known champion of the arts, James Rees is a passionate advocate for art
education that balances theory, research, and practice.  His studio practice embraces the immediacy of drawing with the processes of printmaking He earned his BFA and Brigham Young University and his MFA at the University of Arizona

He is a Fulbright Memorial Scholar, a Teachers Institute of Contemporary Art Fellow and an Art21 Fellow. James has served as reviewer for the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities as well as the National Endowment for the Arts.
