loveDANCEmore and Punto de Inflexión present "From the Borderlands to the Roots"

From the Borderlands to the Roots is a new evening-length performance for the Black Box at the Sorenson Center. This multimedia work utilizes urban music from the United States and Mexico to explore the experience of not belonging here or there — the eternal dilemma of the immigrant and a hallmark of the Latinx/Hispanic/Chicanx experience.The creative process for this new work embraces the hybridity of the COVID era, and includes Mexican and Dutch collaborators as well as acclaimed local artists Leslie Jara, Josephine Kolbeck, Atticus Reo, and composer/film artist Ryan Ross. The work is the first in a series of performances projects led by García which will continue unfolding through the spring and beyond.
