Protectress: New Opera Reading

Opera Contempo is pleased to announce a reading of the first two scenes of a new opera, composed by Utah’s Jessica Rudman, with libretto by Kendra Preston Leonard.

“Protectress” is a modern sequel to the Medusa myth that explores compassion and solidarity in relation to rape culture, victim blaming, and the processing of trauma.
