Randolph Sesquicentennial Historic Building self-guided Tour

The Utah Humanities, the Bear River Heritage Area, and the Bear Lake Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau are happy to present a self-guided historic building tour to promote the town’s sesquicentennial birthday celebration from June 26th to July 24th. If you just want to slow down and take a step back in time with your family, the tour will run from Friday, June 26th through July 24th. Participants may begin the tour at the Wilford Woodruff log house at 95 S. Main Street in Randolph, where a published guide will be available for pick-up.
The guide details the dates of construction of the historic buildings, style of architecture and a brief history of the inhabitants and uses. In addition to historic houses, the tour features the Randolph Tabernacle, a bridge over the Bear River, the Randolph “nail jail”, a pioneer house located a few miles south of the city limits, and a house with National Register status in Woodruff. There are a total of 16 sites to stop by. Look for the yard signs in front of the buildings featured in the brochure.
You may also pick up a guide at other locations in the county, including the Rich County Courthouse, the Sinclair Station on Main, and Crawford Trough in Randolph; Woodruff Country Market, Dee’s service station at Laketown, and Bear Lake Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau in Garden City.
The Randolph DUP Relic Hall and Nail Jail will be open for tours on Fridays from 2-5 p.m. Please remember that while you are always welcome to drive or walk by to see the beautiful historic houses and buildings from the past, not all will be open for tours. Please be courteous and do not enter private property.
